GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s set in the fictional state of Leonida, and the protagonists are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. This article covers only what Rockstar Games has confirmed, and we update it after every announcement.

Story
The story is built around two protagonists, Lucia and Jason. The official premise: an easy score goes wrong, and the pair end up on what Rockstar calls “the darkest side of the sunniest place in America,” caught in a criminal conspiracy that spans the state of Leonida, and they can only get out of it together. In the first trailer, Lucia is in a state prison; in the second, Jason picks her up at the gates, and from then on they work as partners. Rockstar isn’t revealing any other story details.
The world
Leonida is inspired by Florida. Its main city is Vice City, a modern version of the city from the series’ classic entry. The trailers also show coastlines, islands and swamps. All confirmed regions are collected in our article on the GTA 6 map.
Gameplay
Rockstar showed the most gameplay on August 27, 2026, in a 26-minute video captured on PS5. It showed a wanted level that once again goes up to six stars, a criminal profile, one-button switching between the protagonists, stealing cars with a lock pick and a key cloner, and a look that changes with food, exercise and sleep.
