GTA 6 pre-load starts November 10: times, 212 GB and a free Leonida map

Rockstar has moved GTA 6 pre-loading two days earlier. Digital pre-orders start downloading on Tuesday, November 10, instead of November 12, and the download needs up to 212 GB, Rockstar said on November 3 on Newswire and on its support site. The game still unlocks on November 19.

When pre-loading starts

• PS5: at midnight local time on November 10, in your own time zone
• Xbox Series X|S: at the same moment everywhere, 00:00 GMT on November 10. That’s 7 p.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. Pacific on November 9, and 3 a.m. in Moscow on November 10
• Boxed copies: code-in-box versions for both consoles should reach retailers from November 12. The box holds a download code, not a disc (fact)

Release is at midnight local time on November 19 in all regions, on both consoles, according to Rockstar’s page on regional times. On PS5 that matches the store listings, where New Zealand goes first at 11:00 UTC on November 18 (fact). How much space you need

Up to 212 GB of free space, depending on your console (fact). Rockstar didn’t break the figure down by model. A PlayStation Store database tracker reported 210 GB on October 27, close to the official figure; the 750 GB and 676.7 GB claims were never real. What to switch on

Pre-loading starts by itself if the console is set up for it. On PS5, auto-downloads must be on and the console must be on or in rest mode. A free Leonida map on launch day

On November 19 Rockstar will add a printable GTA VI cover art poster with a map of Leonida to the official site as a free download. Shortly after launch, a double-sided printed version goes on sale in the Rockstar Store for $0.99, or comes free with any order there (fact).
