What time does GTA 6 unlock? PlayStation release times by region

On PlayStation 5, GTA 6 unlocks region by region, in most places at midnight local time on November 19. PlayStation Store listings, collected by GTAVice.net, show 15 release windows: the first opens in New Zealand at 11:00 UTC on November 18, the last in Mexico and Central America at 06:00 UTC on November 19.

On November 3 Rockstar confirmed the rule for both consoles: GTA 6 unlocks at midnight local time on November 19 in all regions, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (Rockstar Support).

US and Canada

The US and Canada share one window: 05:00 UTC, which is midnight Eastern. On the West Coast that means 9 p.m. on November 18.

Xbox

The schedule above comes from the PlayStation Store. A comparable country-by-country list for the Xbox Store hasn’t been published, but Rockstar says Xbox Series X|S also gets the game at midnight local time on November 19 in every region.

Pre-load

Digital copies can be pre-loaded from November 10, and physical boxes, which contain a download code, go on sale November 12 (editions and pre-orders).

Pre-loading is as early as it gets: no edition plays before launch (GTA 6 early access).

Pre-order bonus deadline

On September 20, GTAVice.net noticed that Rockstar had updated the store descriptions on PlayStation and Xbox. The Vintage Vice City pack now goes to anyone who buys “prior to 19 November 2026 at 23:59:59.” The text doesn’t name a time zone.

Where you can pre-order

Rockstar lists 62 countries for the PlayStation Store, 39 for the Xbox Store and 30 for its own Rockstar Store. Russia isn’t on any of the lists. Rockstar says more countries may be added as platform rules, local regulations and age ratings allow.
