Is there a GTA 6 beta? No, and the invites going around are fake

There is no public GTA 6 beta. Rockstar hasn’t announced a test, a sign-up form or invites, and its pages only offer pre-orders for the November 19 launch. Every “beta key,” “closed test invite” or “PC beta download” going around is a scam.

Has Rockstar announced a GTA 6 beta?

No. The official GTA VI site has the release date, trailers and pre-order links, and the pre-order support page lists where to buy. Neither mentions testing. A real public test would come with a Newswire post, rules, platforms and a sign-up page on a Rockstar domain.

Rockstar does test the game internally, as every studio does. That’s work done by its own staff and testers, not access for players.

Is there a GTA 6 PC beta?

No, and the PC is where most of these scams aim. GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only; a PC version is reported for early 2027 (details). A file called “GTA 6 PC beta” is whatever the person who uploaded it put inside.

How fake GTA 6 beta scams work

In July, two weeks after pre-orders opened, Kaspersky found a site offering a supposed beta build, promoted with videos and social posts insisting the download was safe. The file could steal data, take over accounts or install malware that runs in the background.

The fake “closed test” sign-ups follow a pattern: a form about your gaming experience, a wait for “approval,” then a push to download a file, pay for a slot or hand over account details.

• Check the address yourself. Open rockstargames.com by typing it, not through a link in a message.
• Look for the same announcement on the Rockstar Newswire. If it isn’t there, it isn’t real.
• Don’t run installers from anyone but the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store.
• Never pay for a beta slot. Studios don’t sell places in tests.

Already downloaded a file or entered your password?

Change the password for the account you entered, on the official site, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you ran a downloaded file, scan the device with a trusted security tool. If you paid, contact your bank or payment service through its official app.
