What we know

Leonida is the fictional state of GTA 6. Rockstar introduced it with the first trailer in December 2023, describing it as “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond.” Just as Vice City stands in for Miami, Leonida stands in for Florida.

Regions

Rockstar has named six regions:

Vice City: the main city, GTA 6’s Miami
Leonida Keys: tropical islands in the south, where the game begins
Grassrivers: the swamps, the game’s Everglades
Port Gellhorn: a faded vacation town of cheap motels
Ambrosia: an industrial region around a sugar refinery
Mount Kalaga National Park: forests and trails by the northern border

The Goodtime State

Florida is the Sunshine State; Rockstar’s merch gives Leonida a nickname of its own, the Goodtime State. It is in the name of the Collector’s Box, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, and on its poster, which invites you to plan a road trip to every corner of the Goodtime State with a full map of Leonida on the back.

Size

Rockstar told The New York Times that Leonida’s playable area is three times that of Red Dead Redemption 2, which makes it the biggest map Rockstar has built.
