GTA 6 has a collector’s box, but the game isn’t in it. The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection went up for pre-order on the Rockstar Store on September 24 for $399.99 and arrives on November 19, launch day. Rockstar’s announcement says it plainly: “Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.”
What’s in the box
Everything is themed on Macca the Gator, which Rockstar calls Leonida’s hit TV show, and his wetland friends. The box holds 11 items:
- A 6-inch figure of Macca with a twist-open stash compartment in the base
- Matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo
- A New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback with Vice City Leonida embroidery and patches
- A Leonida Keys ripstop crossbody bag with a black and pink lining
- A pink glass Macca the Gator mirror, 9 by 12 inches, with magnets on the back
- A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
- A Vice City swizzle spoon
- A Vice City razor blade keychain
- Nine Leonida Keys enamel pins in a metal tin
- Nine vinyl stickers in a stash bag
- A double-sided poster, 36 by 26 inches: Macca and friends on the front, the full map of Leonida on the back
The box itself is black, with the VI logo on the front and “Vice City Leonida” on the lid; inside are a tray and two drawers. The store marks the set for adults only: it has small parts and sharp edges and isn’t a toy.
Price, limits and shipping
- $399.99, one per person; you need to sign in to a Rockstar account to order
- Shipping starts on November 19, 2026, and each package gets its own tracking number
- The store ships to the US, Canada, the UK and 20 European countries; outside the US and UK, duties and taxes may apply
- Rockstar will explain later how to order in Asia, Latin America and Australia; from Russia the store page says the item isn’t available in the region
- The quantity is limited; pre-orders are cancelled through Xsolla, the store’s payment partner
How fans took it
Mostly badly. On X and Reddit the main complaint was the price of a box without the game, and many wanted figures of Jason and Lucia instead of cartoon merch; Kotaku’s headline summed it up as fans wanting Jason and Lucia and getting an alligator. The box costs five times as much as the Standard Edition of the game ($79.99).
Resellers moved anyway. Within days of pre-orders opening, GamesRadar+ found eBay listings from $800 to more than $1,500, while the box was still in stock at Rockstar.
Rockstar has done this before. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector’s Box in 2018 also came without the game, at $99.99; Rockstar said then that buyers could pair it with the edition of their choice (Engadget). And the swizzle spoon has a history: GamesRadar+ points out that Rockstar once made a promotional gold spoon for The Ballad of Gay Tony, a GTA 4 expansion, which now sells for thousands of dollars.
The Mexico photos
The box looks like the one in photos an X user posted on September 9, saying he had packed such boxes at a plant in Mexico: black, with the VI logo and “Vice City Leonida.” He guessed there was a disc inside; there isn’t. What the leak got right and wrong.
More merch is coming
Rockstar says more GTA VI apparel and collectibles will arrive in the Rockstar Store soon. GTAVice.net found about 55 unannounced GTA VI items in the catalog of Xsolla: T-shirts, caps, Burger Shot merch and more. The site itself warns that an item in the catalog may never go on sale.
The editions of the game itself are in our guide to GTA 6 editions and pre-orders.
