Rockstar hasn’t announced a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition. The official editions are the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition (what each includes). The rumor rests on photos that appeared on X on September 9 and were deleted soon after.
What the photos showed
X user @Alexi0982 posted pictures of black boxes with the VI logo and the words “Vice City Leonida,” including a pallet stacked with them. He also showed an employee badge from Unique Services Group, a packaging company in Mexico.
What he claimed
- He spent about a month packing the boxes and signed no NDA
- The box is bigger than a PS5 box and has several compartments inside
- A round insert made him think there is a disc inside
- Production runs until November, and boxes are already shipping worldwide
Why it may not be a retail edition
Some observers, as IBTimes UK reported, think a box that size fits a promotional or press kit better than a product for stores. The disc guess also contradicts Rockstar: its support page says the physical version contains a download code and no disc.
Our take
The photos show packaging with GTA VI branding, but nothing in them says who the box is for. That’s our editorial assessment. Until Rockstar announces a collector’s edition, it stays a rumor.
