The short answer is no. Rockstar Support says the physical version of GTA 6 contains a download code and that a disc will not be included in the box. Rockstar hasn’t announced a disc edition for later either.
What’s in the box
- A code for the game and the Vintage Vice City pack; there is no physical Ultimate Edition
- Boxes reach stores from November 12, so the code can be used for pre-loading
- Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade after redeeming the code
- The free month of GTA+ is only for digital pre-orders
Codes and regions
A redeemed code is tied to your account, so the game can’t be lent or resold. PlayStation codes work only in their region: a code bought in the UK won’t redeem on an account from mainland Europe. Xbox codes aren’t region-locked. Codes sold in Japan expire 170 days after launch because of local rules.
The disc rumor
In June, PPE.pl quoted the insider Graczdari: the code-in-a-box version would be a one-off, followed by a disc edition, possibly in December 2026. A reader then shared an email from Rockstar Support saying a physical copy would be available in the following months.
A source told The Hollywood Reporter that the email was real but misread: “physical copy” meant the box with a code, and “the following months” meant the months after pre-orders opened. According to that source, Rockstar has no plans for a disc at launch or later (Kotaku).
What it means for you
If you want to play on November 19, the boxed version and a digital purchase give you the same thing: a download. If owning a disc matters, the only option is to wait for an announcement that may never come.
