GTA 6 RP: will there be roleplay servers like FiveM?

Not at launch: roleplay servers run on PC, and GTA 6 comes out on consoles as a single-player game. Rockstar has owned the FiveM team since 2023 and now licenses RP servers, which hints at how GTA 6 RP could arrive later.

Not at launch. Roleplay servers, the kind that made GTA 5 RP huge on Twitch, run on PC through FiveM. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026 only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar calls it a single-player game (fact). There’s no online mode announced, let alone RP. Any “GTA 6 RP download” today is a fake (how to download GTA 6).

How GTA RP works now

  • In August 2023 Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, became part of Rockstar Games (Rockstar Newswire).
  • Rockstar allows RP servers through its Creator Platform as long as they follow its policies (Rockstar Support).
  • Its mod guidelines from September 10, 2026 allow multiplayer mods only on that licensed platform and ban things like real-money gambling and selling in-game currency (the mod rules).
  • On September 1, 2026 Rockstar announced a closed beta of nopixel V, a licensed GTA 5 roleplay server you join through the Rockstar Games Launcher (Rockstar).

What would GTA 6 RP need?

A PC version first. GamesBeat reports, citing four sources, that it’s planned for the first quarter of 2027, and it names roleplay servers as one reason Rockstar needs it: FiveM runs only on PC (is GTA 6 coming to PC). An online base would help too, and Rockstar hasn’t announced an online mode; the Twitch CEO only said he expects one next year (GTA Online in GTA 6).

Given that Rockstar now owns the FiveM team and runs a licensed server program, GTA 6 RP is likely to come through Rockstar’s own platform rather than unofficial tools. That’s our reading of the moves above, not an announcement.

Can you play GTA 6 with friends at launch?
