Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, five weeks before the game comes out on November 19. It runs exactly 90 seconds and is the fourth official video, after Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and the Extended Look. It also debuts “Flower in a Hurricane”, a new song by Justice, the duo Rockstar credits with the game’s original score.
Counting trailers only, it’s the third: after Trailer 1 in December 2023 and Trailer 2 in May 2025. The Extended Look in between was a longer gameplay video (fact; all GTA 6 trailers).
Where to watch it
The trailer is in Rockstar’s Newswire post, on its own page on the GTA VI site and on Rockstar’s YouTube channel. On YouTube it is age-restricted and asks you to sign in before it plays.
What the story pitch says
Rockstar’s description sets up the plot more plainly than before. Jason and Lucia have always known the odds are against them, and then an easy score goes wrong. That puts them on “the darkest side of the sunniest place in America”, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that runs across the state of Leonida, and the only way out is to rely on each other.
What the trailer shows
GameSpot and GamesRadar+ went through it shot by shot. Their main finds:
- Jason, working at a marina, takes a call from Lucia while she is still in prison (GameSpot)
- Jason talks about leaving the military in less than glamorous circumstances, and wears his hair long for much of the trailer (GamesRadar+)
- Lucia has a monitoring tag on her ankle in a shower scene with Jason; Rob Nelson has said the tag is part of how the two are brought together
- Helicopters everywhere: one crashes behind Jason, Lucia rides another with a grenade launcher, and a third swings a chained load through the city and smashes a row of windows
- Jason and Lucia jump off a roof into a hotel pool
- Jason wades through a swamp with companions, all in night-vision goggles
- A dog in its own goggles, crowded beaches and a low-flying plane with a banner that sounds like a cryptocurrency ad
GameSpot also spotted a road sign pointing to Goose Key, which it reads as a nod to Top Gun, and two characters in pink balaclavas that may reference Spring Breakers. Those are the outlet’s guesses; Rockstar hasn’t commented.
Wccftech calls the trailer a medley of new scenes about the game’s feel rather than its mechanics, so there are no new systems to report. GamesRadar+ notes it was captured on PS5, with PlayStation branding at both ends.
The song
“Flower in a Hurricane” is by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It will be on GTA VI: The Album, the 34-song soundtrack out November 19. Who Justice are and how the score differs from the album and the radio is in our article on the GTA 6 music.
The first response
GamesRadar+ reports that the trailer passed a million YouTube views in about half an hour, with the caveat that counters struggle under that kind of load.
What comes next
Pre-loading opens on November 12, and the game starts unlocking region by region on November 18. Every date until launch is in the GTA 6 launch calendar.
