Justice wrote the GTA 6 score: “Flower in a Hurricane” and what we know about the music

The original score of GTA 6 is by Justice. Rockstar announced it on October 15 together with the Launch Trailer, which debuts the duo’s new single “Flower in a Hurricane”. A separate score album is coming; Rockstar has promised details later.

Update, October 30: the score album has a date. Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score comes out December 11 with 30 tracks, and a second single, “Pusher” with Gesaffelstein, is out (details).

Who Justice are

Justice is a French electronic duo, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay (Wccftech). Rockstar credits them with the game’s original score, the music written for GTA 6 itself, as opposed to the songs on the radio and on the album.

“Flower in a Hurricane”

The single features Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. It plays in the Launch Trailer and is part of GTA VI: The Album, which you can pre-save on streaming services or pre-order on vinyl and CD at gtavi-thealbum.com, according to Rockstar’s announcement.

Score, album and radio are three different things

• The score: original music by Justice for the game. Rockstar promises more about it, including an official score album, with no date yet
• GTA VI: The Album: 34 new songs from artists such as Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen and PinkPantheress, out November 19
• The radio: in-game stations; Rockstar has revealed six, from Flash FM to The Chamber 106.6 (GTA 6 radio stations)

When Rockstar announced the album on September 17, it said it would tell more later about the game’s dynamic score. DJ Mag noted on October 15 that nothing else about the score itself had been shared.

Music in the videos so far

The first two trailers used licensed songs: Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” in Trailer 1 and The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together” in Trailer 2. According to DJ Mag, the Extended Look in August featured “Mine O Mine” by Jayda G and Aluna, Depeche Mode’s “People Are People” and “Inner Light” by Elderbrook and Bob Moses.

Previews of the six stations are on the music page of the GTA VI site.
