The phone in GTA 6 is part of the world rather than a menu. When Jason or Lucia takes it out, the camera zooms in on the hand holding it, much like the close-ups in Red Dead Redemption 2 (IGN).

The Instagram parody Snapmatic is back, but you can’t post your own photos: the couple are on the run and don’t want a digital footprint. You can follow accounts and scroll (IGN, Famitsu). Esquire Australia writes that influencer culture is one of the satire’s targets.

Texts between Jason and Lucia
If you spend most of a day as one character, the other may text to remind you to lock up or to say they’re going to bed, and ignoring those texts can hurt the relationship. You can call or text your partner to join you anywhere. After an escape where the two split up, the other one texts once it’s safe (IGN).
Livestreams, TV and radio
People in the world go live, and you can stumble on their streams (Famitsu); the Extended Look showed one with a chat (what fans found there). There are more radio and TV ads than in any earlier GTA (IGN), and Kinda Funny reports several episodes of original animated TV made with an outside studio.
A phone that changes with the story
Apps, messages, news and social feeds update as the story moves on, and Jason’s phone differs from Lucia’s, Nelson told Flow Games.
