Car theft

Cars in GTA 6 are stolen by tier: you scan a car with the WAINK phone app, then open it with a slim jim or a key cloner. Some carry trackers, and damage lowers the price.

What we know

The WAINK app shows a parked car’s value, the cost of registering it as your own, the locks, the alarm and a tracker. An old car opens with a slim jim; a modern prestige car needs a key cloner, and some stay out of reach until the story gives you the tool. A car with a driver can be carjacked as before (IGN).

Trackers alert the police if you drive too slowly. Stolen cars go to a fence and lose value if they arrive damaged. Cars and motorcycles use fuel, and handling is heavier than in GTA 5, Rob Nelson told Flow Games.
