GTA 6 cheats and codes: will there be any, and when?

There are no real GTA 6 cheat codes yet. The game comes out on November 19, 2026, and until then nobody outside Rockstar can know them, so any list online is made up. Rockstar hasn’t said whether GTA 6 has cheats at all. When the first verified codes appear after launch, we’ll publish them on this site.

Will GTA 6 have cheats?

Nobody has confirmed it, but the odds are good. PC Gamer calls cheat codes a tradition in Rockstar games (PC Gamer), and both of the studio’s last big games had them, each in its own way.

How cheats worked in GTA V

• On consoles you entered a button sequence on the controller.
• On any platform you could dial a number starting with 1-999 on the in-game phone.
• On PC you could type a word into the console, for example LAWYERUP to lower your wanted level (PC Gamer).

The cheats had a price. With a cheat on, achievements and trophies were disabled and missions could earn no more than a bronze medal. There was no money cheat at all, and none of the cheats worked in GTA Online.

How cheats worked in Red Dead Redemption 2

RDR2 replaced button codes with phrases typed into a Cheats menu in the settings. Some phrases worked right away; others only after you bought a particular newspaper later in the story, so cheats unlocked chapter by chapter (PC Gamer). Which approach GTA 6 takes, if any, is unknown.

A code for six wanted stars?

GTA 6 brings back a six-star wanted level, and the police search for you by your description (police and wanted level). GTA V had cheats to raise and lower your wanted level. Whether GTA 6 does is unknown until people can play it.

Trainers and mods

Trainers and script mods need a PC version, and GTA 6 doesn’t have one yet. Rockstar’s mod guidelines from September 2026 currently cover GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and older games (the mod rules). Sites selling “GTA 6 cheats” or trainers today are scams like the fake downloads (how to download GTA 6).
