GTA 6 price by country: what the PlayStation Store charges around the world

GTA 6 costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US. Other PlayStation Stores set their own prices in local currency, and they don’t all line up with the dollar. Converted at the October 27 exchange rates, the cheapest Standard Edition is in Japan, at about $62, and the most expensive of the stores we checked is in Switzerland, at about $96.

Some countries price in dollars instead of local currency: Argentina, Chile and Colombia all list $79.99 and $99.99. Taxes work differently from store to store, so a dollar figure here is a rough comparison, not what lands on a card statement.

Why the same game costs different amounts

Each store lists its price in local currency, and the price doesn’t change with daily exchange rates, so the dollar comparison moves whenever a currency does. Right now the Turkish price comes out level with the US one, at about $80.

Can you buy GTA 6 from a cheaper country?

Not without risk, and on PlayStation not easily. Sony says an account’s country can’t be changed after it’s created, and gift card codes only work on accounts from the same country (PlayStation Support). Rockstar gives the same advice for GTA 6 codes (fact). The PlayStation Terms of Service ask you to give accurate information about yourself and say Sony may suspend accounts that don’t, which can cut off access to games you paid for (Terms of Service).
