World Wrestling Entertainment filed an application to register “Vice City” as a trademark on August 4, 2026. It covered wrestling shows, broadcasts, online content, fan clubs and other entertainment, and was filed on an intent-to-use basis.
The name fits Lola Vice, a WWE wrestler with a Miami persona who has used “Vice City” in her branding. The application didn’t last: WWE asked to abandon it on September 2, and the US Patent and Trademark Office issued a notice of abandonment on September 21.
Is GTA behind it?
Nothing in the record says so: Rockstar, Take-Two and GTA aren’t mentioned, and no reason is given. GTAVice.net, which found the record, points out that “Vice City” also appeared in the trademark notes of the GTA VI listings on the Xbox and PlayStation stores this month. Any link between the two is speculation.
Vice City has been part of the series since the first GTA in 1997 and was the setting of GTA: Vice City in 2002. In GTA 6 it is the main city of the state of Leonida.
